Travel Information

For guests arriving/departing at the airport:
The airport Halle/Leipzig is located about 20 miles west of Leipzig. A cGMP Welcome Counter will be set up in the arrival hall after customs on June 14, 2003. There will be a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel on June 14. Departure times for the shuttles will be: 8.45 am, 9.15 am, 10.45 am, 1.15 pm, 2.45 pm and 5.15 pm.
Air travellers arriving at another time/date can take a taxi to the hotel, at a cost of approximately 40 Euros one-way.
Alternatively, there is the AirportExpress (run by Deutsche Bahn) commuting from the airport via the new trade fair site to the central train station in 14 minutes at a cost of approximately 3,50 Euros. The train departs every 30 minutes, starting from 5.22 am.

On June 17, there will be a shuttle service from the hotel to the airport. Shuttles leave at 5.00 am, 6.45 am, 8.00 am, 9.00 am, 11.00 am, 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm, and 3.30 pm. For details on the airport transfers please check the flipchart at the cGMP hospitality desk at the hotel.
Alternatively, there is the Airport Express running from the central train station via the trade fair site to the airport. Travel time is 14 minutes, costs run at about
3,50 Euros. Trains start running at 4.48 am and depart every 30 minutes.
Taxis to the airport cost about 40 Euros.

For guests arriving/departing at the central train station (Leipzig Hauptbahnhof):
The Renaissance Leipzig Hotel is located in the city centre of Leipzig within walking distance of the central train station. Train travellers can either take a taxi to the hotel at a cost of approximately 5 Euros, or walk in about 5 minutes to the hotel.

Parking is available at the hotel for a fee of 8 Euros per 24 hours.

Young Investigator Award

A Young Investigator Award will be presented to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows based on the submitted abstract and presentation of the work at the meeting, either in oral or poster (height 1.45 m, width 1.15 m) form. Candidates must be first authors on a submitted abstract and must check the appropriate box on the electronic abstract form. The awardee will receive 500 Euros in recognition of his/her work.
