cGMP: Generators, Effectors and
Therapeutic Implications

Kassel

With more than 200,000 inhabitants, KASSEL is the third largest metropolis after Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, a university city, once the capital of the Landgraviate of Hesse and today a transport hub and shopping paradise: Kassel is all this and much more.

One of the most environmentally-conscious cities in Germany, thanks to enchanting green spaces - the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, the largest of its kind in Europe with magnificent baroque trick fountains and unique landscape architecture, is not a UNESCO World Heritage Site for nothing.

As a former residential city, Kassel also has magnificent castles and art treasures, but also multifaceted and contrasting everyday construction in the individual districts – many buildings in the city, for example, are now icons of 50s architecture.

Art and culture are very important in Kassel. The Old Masters Picture Gallery in Wilhelmshöhe Palace is one of the most important art collections in Germany, while documenta, the world's most important exhibition of contemporary art, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from near and far every five years. Culture fans can look forward to numerous other museums and collections, including the GRIMM WORLD, which brings the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm to life.
